The Virginia Satir Global Network

The mission of the "Virginia Satir Global Network® is to promote the creation of healthy and just relationships, based on the teachings of Virginia Satir."

His teachings state that a healthy and just relationship honors the self, the other, and the context.

Satir Global supports and promotes acceptance and inclusion.

 

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, race, creed, nationality, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, and any other forms of inequality.

 

The elements she taught as being fundamental to honoring each of them include:

 

• Being connected to your Spirit/Self and relating to that energy to see, hear, and understand others, as well as yourself.

• To value yourself and others as worthy of love.

• Being aware of your own behavior, beliefs, expectations, and feelings so you can choose to respond in a way that honors yourself, others, and the context.

• An openness to greater understanding and acceptance of oneself and others.

• To see oneself and others as equals in personality, regardless of differences in age, roles, etc., such as son and father, wife and husband, student and teacher, patient and doctor, employee and supervisor.

• To celebrate your uniqueness and that of everyone else, while simultaneously honoring your similarity to everyone else in terms of shared human feelings.

• To believe that change is possible.

 

The Network's objectives for fulfilling the Satir Global Network's mission are as follows:

 

To provide an inclusive forum to support and encourage the creativity of individuals, groups, and institutions in the use, sharing, and development of the Satir Growth Model.
To promote the global network of individuals and groups who embrace the teachings of Virginia Satir.
Supporting efforts to transform systemic oppression and inequality.
